Just When I Booked My Flight To Japan

Look at what I received this in my inbox this morning.

A promotion from Japan Airlines.
Experience "Colorful Japan" -First wave -
** Available at your travel agent in Malaysia **

Do you want to feel autumn & winter in Japan? JAL is offering very affordable air fare to Japan(Tokyo) with 3person or more travel together at RM600.00 per person on economy class.(excluded surcharge and taxes)

At the same time, we are offering business class fare at ONLY MYR5,000 per person.(excluded surcharge and taxes)
Of course with JAL, you can extend your destination to Japan domestic cities such as Hokkaido, Osaka and Kyushu.,etc "one world YOKOSO/Visit Japan Fare" (10,000 yen per sector).
Don't miss this opportunity!

Other terms & conditions apply. For more information or reservation, please contact your travel agent.

Period : Until July 31, 2011
Outbound travelling Period : September 01, 2011 - December 10, 2011

I would've booked this JAL's promo airfare in a heartbeat if not for the fact we already have bookings with budget airline, AirAsia.  Why? I don't mind budget hotels - I've slept in buses and trains too just to keep accommodation cost down, but I don't really do budget airlines! XD

But of course I just had to "disturb" my travel agent and check the total fares. Those planning to fly to Japan this coming year-end school holiday (or the Raya week, for that matter) can take advantage of the promotion.

What can I say? I'm such a sucker for Japan Airlines.

From 12pm today to 29th May. Just USD9 for air tickets from Kuala Lumpur to Tokyo (Haneda)! OMG! OMG!  OMG! Should I book another set for next year travel now? I am sooooooooo tempted to do it! Common sense be damned!

I wonder what are the dates for school holiday between 9 Feb 2012 to 20 June 2012?

If I Can't Go To Japan, Let Me Fly To Switzerland Instead

One thing I love about vacationing in Japan is the level of service there. Now, if you are like me and been used to scowling and grumpy hotel staff (I see this a lot here, unfortunately) good service is a breath of fresh air and something that I sought for. The coming trip will be our 6th trip (5th for Raimie) to Japan. A colleague asked me whether I have no interest in visiting other countries and I think if I can't go to Japan, I'd like to visit Switzerland.

Going to a Swiss Hotel would be a great experience for me and my family. I'll look forward to experiencing what it means for a "Typically Swiss" experience. From what I gather it meant Service that is a touch more personal, an atmosphere that is authentic, food that is surprisingly down to earth - Typically Swiss is no empty promise, but rather the badge of honour for a hotel experience to be had only in Switzerland.

For a romantic getaway for me and Zaini, I'd love to go country inns or somewhere in the countryside or the mountains and enjoy the breathtaking view Switzerland can offer like the one below. Imagine waking up to such view.

I wouldn't say no to staying in this hotel. A stylish hotel, right down to the smallest detail. Sounds like the Hotel for me! If you are planning for a vacation, why don't you check out Switzerland and enjoy a Swiss Hotels experience! I know I will.

JAL Promo And Time To Renew Our JALFC Membership

Look what I found in my mailbox two days ago. A new promotion from Japan Airlines (JAL) to Tokyo/Osaka. The airfares are still the same with the previous promotion, which I wrote about here. With adult fares at RM1,350.00 and child fares at RM1,050.00, travelling to Japan with JAL is a little bit cheaper than with MAS. (But then, if you hate the hassle of transit in Changi Airport, MAS is the best option because MAS has direct flights but for us, we have always prefered to travel with JAL).

MAS' current promotion airfares to Tokyo/Osaka is RM713 (one way).

Anyway, back to JAL promo. This fare is valid for travel up to Oct 31 which is still too early for us. If only it ends on Nov 30 then I can book our flights straight away! Booking period starts from Aug 10 to Aug 21, so better mark your calendar if you want to reserve your tickets with JAL.
Which reminds me to renew our JAL Family Club membership. The advantage of having a JAL Family Club membership on top of our JAL Mileage Bank membership is that we can pool our mileage. Compared to MAS and SIA, JAL has been quite generous with the mileage accumulation and pooling our mileage, we can easily redeem them. Our preference is to exchange them for vouchers like this one.

Jogoya Promotion

Buy 2 Free 1 promotion at Jogoya. Hurry hurry hurry. Promotion ends Mar 31, 2009. If I decided to go, it'll be just me and Raimie so a bit "sayang" not to utilise the offer.

This free lobster dish promotion however, ends today.

We usually don't go for buffet be it lunch or dinner if there is no promotion like this. Would you go if you get full just by eating these?

A bowl of Sansai Soba

Or Ebi-don

or eating a Strawberry Parfait

My stomach is becoming small as my age advances but the wieght doesn't go down. :(
