Drinks Fit For A Super Hero

Another juvenile post, after last week's super heroes post. *^-^*
Fancy a can of cider or two with Kamen Riders?
or some cola with Ultraman Jack, Leo or Hikari?
or are you a bad ass and fancy drinking with the villains - Macron, Zetton or King Joe Black?

Some of those drinks you can find only in Japan and for sure, we bought some for our son; him  (not to mention the Dad too) being consumate fan of all tokukatsu series.

Game Cards Mania - Data Carddass Style

One of the nonsense we allow Raimie to splurge each month is buying Japanese magazines which is either the Terebi-Kun or the Terebi-Mag. And he has started collecting Kamen Rider, Super Sentai and of course Ultraman carddass that he got as free gifts from these two magazines.

A surefire way to make kids want to buy these magazines and subsequently buy whatever toys they are promoting in their current issues - give out freebies! Come to think of it, the Kamen Rider series and the Ultra Series, (or whatever tokukatsu* series from the Land of the Rising Sun) it's like watching an extended ad for their toys and merchandises anyway!

For your info, Carddass is the Bandai subsidiary responsible for releasing game cards based on popular Bandai franchises. This includes games such as the Gundam War Collectible Card Game based on the metaseries, as well as a Gash Bell (Zatch Bell!) TCG, Naruto CCG, Rangers Strike (Super Sentai Series, Kamen Rider Series, Metal Hero Series), Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ultra Galaxy Daikaijyu Battle (Ultra Series) and most recently their most sucsessful to date, the Battle Spirits Trading Card Game.

Raimie can't wait to go to Japan and play the arcade games either  Ultraman's Daikaiju Battle RR and Kamen Rider 's Ganbaride. Japan game arcade centres : here we come! Bye-bye all our 100yen coins! *^_^*

p.s.*Tokukatsu is not to be mistaken as Tonkatsu, OK?

Tokukatsu : is a Japanese term that applies to any live-action film or television drama that usually features superheroes and makes considerable use of special effects(tokusatsu literally translates as "special filming" in Japanese).

Tonkatsu: is a breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet, one to two centimeters thick and sliced into bite-sized pieces, generally served with shredded cabbage and/or miso soup.

That children, concludes our Japanese lesson for today. XD

Raimie Got A Shopping List

One of the highlights of going to Japan for Raimie is the fact that this is one of the few times we allowed him to buy toys (especially Ultraman toys) without any condition being set. Actually we only allow him to buy any Japanese toys when we go to Japan because the price of those toys are more than double in Malaysia. Raimie is a patient boy so he can and is willing to wait.

He has a cardboard box full of Ultraman, Seijin (aliens) and kaijus (monsters) of the Ultraman series and from Kamen Rider too but of course he wants more. He has yet complete his collection.

Being his father's son, he develops a penchant for making lists and it is funny to see combing through his terebi-kun magazines (a Japanese magazine for kids) and writing down what toys he wants to buy when we get to Japan. So far, the list is two pages long!

He has already started saving money for the upcoming trip because we told him he needs to, in order to buy the toys he wanted, but we'll put all the cash he saved from his pocket money in the bank and pay for the toys ourselves instead. ;)

A trip to Yodobashi Camera is a must for us because that's where we get the toys at a cheaper price than any other stores. For those who love to collect the capsule toys (gachapon) you should visit Yodobashi Camera especially Yodobashi-Akiba. Rows and rows of gachapon machines to make you go wild!

Hooked On Kamen Rider Decade

Zaini had been patiently downloading the episodes of Kamen Rider Decade for us three. Boy, we are hooked on Kamen Rider Decade now! As I wrote earlier, my favourite Kamen Rider is Den-O but at the moment, Decade come a close second to Den-O.

Kamen Rider Decade is the tenth Rider series in the Heisei era.The story is about all nine Kamen Rider universes merging into one, which will in turn destroy all the worlds. To help prevent this from happening, Tsukasa Kadoya as Kamen Rider Decade travels to each of the nine worlds in order to defeat the Kamen Riders of the other dimensions. The catchphrase for the series is - "Destroy everything, Connect everything".

I may have problem with the look of Decade (the suit doesn't look awe inspiring at all, and many don't seem to care much about the suit too) but I love the arrogant and cocky attitude of Tsukasa Kadoya (played by Masahiro Inoue) who is way cooler than the wimpy Ryotaro Nogami in Den-O. The way he "henshin" is so cool too!

Also, the opening theme song "Journey Through The Decade" is performed by Gackt and it is awesome.

One thing for certain after watching 5 episodes - there'll be plenty of Kamen Rider merchandises kids will want to buy.
